// Curriculum Update, New Year! //
Yellow room children walked inside the classroom with a bright smile this week, eager to meet their friends and teachers after the Holidays. We welcomed the New Year by changing the year, month and date on our classroom calendar during circle time. Children were thrilled to know that Ms. Jaclyn gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and named her Luna! Ms. Jaclyn also stopped by at the end of the day to say hello to all of us and received hugs from all the children. Yellow Room also welcomed Ms.Tia who will be helping us and covering Ms.Jaclyn’s maternity. Children took turns to share about their Holidays and how they celebrated with their respective families.
We took some time this week to enjoy the weather in the park and talked about winter in the classroom. We learnt that snowflakes have different shapes and read a book about them which had beautiful pictures of snowflakes in it. As an extension to the same, we also added winter related works on the shelves which the children can use to paint mittens, punch snowflakes and even cut paper to shape it like a snowflake.
