Triangle Room friends were introduced to our Specials this week. We enjoyed meeting our Music teacher, Mr. Sebastian. He introduced our class to many songs and allowed them to sing along using musical instruments.
We also had the chance to meet our Spanish teacher, Ms. Martha. She began by singing the song “Buenos Dias, Como Estas” which means “Good Morning and How Are You” . The children were all smiles when they met Ms. Martha’s cow puppet which means “vaca” in Spanish.
For Art, the class was able to use the easel and a paint a picture with the color red. This week we are also starting to practice walking up and down the stairs to and from our Movement class.
During our second full week, the children have started to slowly phase into their routine. They have begun to form bonds with their teachers and are getting to know their friends in the classroom. As they continue to explore their environment, we continue to lay the Montessori foundation by teaching them the necessary tasks such as carefully rolling and unrolling a rug, carrying a work from the shelf to a table and learning to push a chair in after completing a work.
Many children have enjoyed working in all areas of the classroom and have continued to explore apple themes throughout the classroom. A song that was introduced this week during circle time is “Way Up High in the Apple Tree”.
We continue to enjoy the remaining hot sunny days of the season by taking strolls through our neighborhood and playing in the park!
This week was an exciting week in Triangle Room. Our old friends welcomed our new friends into the classroom during “Phase-In”.
We focused on learning the classroom routines and guidelines and enjoyed exploring our classroom environment.
We gathered around for our morning circle to greet all our friends and teachers and learned lot of new songs. We also introduced the calendar using the song “There Are Seven Days of the Week”. We look forward to having more fun times ahead in the Triangle Room!
