// Curriculum Update: Week of Feb. 18 //

Happy 100th Day of School! Yes, 100 days! 

In math, first levels friends are receiving one-on-one multiplication lessons while also working on their addition and subtraction. Second levels are working on multi-digit multiplication with the checkerboard. In cultural, they are studying the internal parts of the amphibian. Last Friday, we had a great time at the New York Aquarium! Finally, on Wednesday, we celebrated 100th Day of School!       

This week...

In math, first levels are receiving one-on-one lesson on multiplication, while also working on their additions and subtractions. In geometry, first levels are working on their curved figures while second levels are working on triangles of reality. Second levels are working on measuring. In language, second and third levels received a lesson on plural endings. All ocean room friends had a great time celebrating Chinese New Year!

// Curriculum Update: Week of Jan 28 //

Last Friday, after an excited root lesson, Ocean Room friends  enjoyed prepping the root vegetables that they brought in for a very special cooking project! Vegetables were DELICIOUS! This week, first levels continue working on building fractions as well as their addition and subtractions! In language, everyone was working in the comma follow up and catching on some other follow ups! And at the end of the day, everyone seats for a nice reading time!

This week, Ocean Room friends received a lesson on the use of a comma. In cultural, Ms. Sally introduced the class to the Biomes of Europe. In Math, first levels are working independently in building fractions and addition with the bead board. In Geometry, third levels are studying the relationships between lines. In Math, second and third levels are working in Roman Numerals Numbers. In Language, second levels are working in symbolizing and matching grammar patterns.

// Curriculum Update: Week of Jan. 14 //

This week was filled of lessons and follow ups. First levels friends did a follow up activity where they created a fish print. In math, first levels received a lesson on telling time by half hour. Also, first levels are working independently with subtraction strip board and bead board frame.  Second levels are working with detective triangles. While third levels were working independently in language follow ups! In culture, the class received a lesson on parts of a plant! 

// Curriculum Update: Week of Jan 7 //

Back to the routine of the work cycle! Ocean Room friends received a variety of lessons this week! In math, first level friends are learning to build fractions. In cultural, first levels were introduced to vertebrates while seconds levels were working on vertebrates and invertebrates. Second levels are working of rounding numbers. Some third level friends were introduced to division with the golden beads.

Happy New Year!

Ocean Room was really excited to get  back into the routine of the school day. Some first levels received a lesson on subtraction strip board. In Language, first levels received a lesson on articles. While second and third levels focus on follow up works.

// Hibernation Week: Curriculum Update //

This week, first levels started learning about one of the grammatical rules about plurals. In Cultural, they received a lesson on the parts of a flag. In Geometry, third levels received a lesson on Positions of Lines.  We want to express our gratitude to Inbal and Leor for coming to Ocean Room and celebrating Hanukkah with us! The Donuts were DELICIOUS!
