// Week of Sept. 24: Curriculum Update //

We started this week off in Earth Room talking about the Autumnal Equinox and why the seasons change.  We wrote journals about our favorite fall activities and what we hope we can do this season.  Our class also made our first graph, a bar graph, showing which season was our favorite.  Look at our pictures to see the winner!

We started our Solar System unit with the third levels presenting a small skit introducing the planets to the rest of the class.  We will spend the next few weeks focusing on space and our place in it.

This week in Earth Room we sat down as a group and discussed the expectations of our classroom community. We thought  carefully about guidelines and ideas that would help keep us safe and our community clean. These agreements were written down and we all signed our Class Constitution. 

Earth Room friends are starting to settle into new routines and work habits, taking note of the new expectations that lay before them. We had many new lessons this week after finishing up reviews from last year.  Our friends are very excited to be getting into their new work plans for the year. 

// Week of Sept. 10: Curriculum Update //

This week, we did a lot of community-building activities and beginning-of-the-year assessments.  We also followed up from the First Great Lesson by talking about our place in the Universe and by figuring out our Cosmic Address. 

We also jump started our Writers Workshop unit by creating Inspiration Pages. These pages will be the basis for our Small Moment book. And of course, we really enjoyed getting to know each other, especially as we have been welcoming our first level friends!
